Portsmouth news round-up: Harvey Knibbs update as transfer now agreed
Portsmouth are still working on strengthening their squad this summer ahead of next season.
Pompey left it late to secure their survival in the Championship last season, and are seemingly approaching the transfer market in the same vein.
The seaside club have made just three signings in John Swift, Adrian Segecic, and Mark Kosznovszky so far this summer, and risk falling behind their rivals.
John Mousinho is hoping that Michael Eisner will accelerate his approach as Pompey News brings you the latest updates from Fratton Park.

Matt Ritchie’s exit to aid Portsmouth transfers
Matt Ritchie’s likely departure from the South Coast will give Portsmouth more flexibility in the transfer market this summer.
The veteran’s wages are reportedly the highest in the squad, and with 11 months left on his deal, Pompey could also be in line to receive a fee for his signature.
The former Newcastle wide player is set to leave after failing to receive assurances from Mousinho over his game time next season.
The English manager stood firm on his call, despite Ritchie making 41 appearances last season, and will likely have to find a replacement for the Scotsman.

Harvey Knibbs could leave Reading this summer
Reading manager Neil Hunt admitted that Harvey Knibbs could leave the Royals if they received a suitable offer for the talented midfielder.
The 26-year-old has been left out of their upcoming pre-season friendly against Mousinho’s side on Saturday (26 July), although it was claimed to be due to a minor injury concern.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
2024/25 | 43 | 14 | 6 | 3,716′ |
2023/24 | 45 | 11 | 6 | 3,789′ |
Knibbs has been linked with a move to Fratton Park this summer after impressing in League One over the last two seasons, and looks to be a step closer to making the move a possibility.
Jay Sadler excited by Jemima Dahou move
Portsmouth Women manager Jay Sadler is very excited by the recent acquisition of Jemima Dahou on a two-year deal.
The Women’s Super League 2 side capitalised on Blackburn’s controversial decision to withdraw their club from the division in May, leaving players like Dahou without a club.
The 19-year-old midfielder previously played for Manchester City, and Sadler will hope she can have an instant impact on the first team after avoiding relegation by the skin of their teeth last season.
